NIVI began with an unusual partnership—one shaped by two very different journeys. One rooted in creativity, storytelling, and emotion. The other built through decades of jewellery craftsmanship, gemological expertise, and global experience. Together, those journeys came together with one shared belief: jewellery should carry meaning long after the moment it is first worn.

I didn't begin my journey in the world of jewellery. I began it in creativity—in drama school, in performance, and in storytelling. Theatre taught me that everything we wear carries meaning. A costume can transform how a character feels, moves, and expresses themselves. Over time, I realised that life is no different. What we choose to wear quietly becomes part of who we are.
I come from a humble background, but I have always been drawn to refinement—not as a symbol of status, but as an expression of intention. I have always questioned why certain objects stay with us, why some colours bring comfort, and why certain materials make us feel different. Those questions slowly shaped the way I looked at jewellery—not as decoration, but as something deeply personal.
Those thoughts eventually became the foundation of NIVI. I never wanted to create jewellery that was simply admired for a moment and forgotten the next. I wanted to create pieces that become part of someone's life—marking milestones, carrying memories, and quietly reflecting the person who wears them. For me, jewellery is at its most beautiful when it feels personal, intentional, and timeless.
Today, many people choose jewellery based on how it looks. I have always believed it should also be chosen based on how it feels. Jewellery sits on your skin, moves with you, and quietly becomes part of your presence. When a piece feels comfortable and aligned with who you are, it becomes more than an ornament—it becomes part of your story.
Today, every NIVI creation begins with the same question: "What should this piece make someone feel?" That question guides every decision—from the story behind a collection to the choice of gemstones and the smallest design details. My hope is simple: that every piece we create becomes more than jewellery. It becomes a quiet companion to someone's life, carrying memories, emotions, and meaning long after it is first worn.
Jewellery has never been just a profession for me—it has always been a conscious choice.
I come from a family rooted in garment manufacturing, where continuing the family business was the expected path. But I found myself drawn to something different. I was fascinated by the precision, artistry, and emotion that jewellery could hold. The idea that a small piece, crafted with care, could become part of someone's most cherished memories inspired me to pursue a different journey.
That decision led me to study Jewellery Design and Manufacturing at SNDT College in Mumbai, followed by Gemology in the United States, where I earned my Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Those years gave me not only technical knowledge but also a deep appreciation for gemstones, craftsmanship, and the standards that define exceptional jewellery.
Over the past twenty-five years, I have worked extensively in the jewellery export industry, contributing to collections for internationally renowned brands including David Yurman, Judith Ripka, and Stephen Webster. Working alongside some of India's finest manufacturers—who create jewellery exclusively for global luxury houses—taught me that true luxury is built on precision, consistency, integrity, and attention to every detail, no matter how small.
After decades of creating for international brands, I wanted to build something closer to my own heart. Together with Vinod, we founded NIVI to bring together thoughtful design, authentic materials, and meaningful craftsmanship. Every piece reflects the values we believe in—honest craftsmanship, enduring quality, and jewellery that feels as personal as the story behind it.
For me, the finest jewellery is never defined only by how beautifully it shines. It is defined by how thoughtfully it is made, how comfortably it is worn, and how meaningfully it becomes part of someone's life.
